How to fire

Mark mortar → paste coords → ping target → align → dial MIL

  1. 1

    Mark your mortar

On the tactical map, open the menu on your gun position and choose Mark Coordinates. That posts the mortar grid into squad chat.

  2. 2

    Copy from chat

Open team chat, select the coordinate line, then Ctrl+A and Ctrl+X to cut it onto the clipboard.

  3. 3

    Paste mortar into the tool

Hit Paste mortar (or paste into the field and tap Set). The position is saved locally so you only redo this when you move the tube.

Set the target & read the solution

Mark the target the same way, then Paste target. Read distance (m) or elevation (MIL). The L81 sight panel shows where to place your indicator.

    Ping the target

Look at the impact point in the world and ping it with the middle mouse button so you have a bearing marker on the compass.

  6. 6

    Align to the ping

Traverse the mortar until your aiming diamond stacks on the ping under the compass heading.

    Dial elevation

In the L81 optic, raise or lower until your RNG marker matches the tool’s gold SET HERE line. Approximate first — walk it in with a ranging round.

    Know the target area

Confirm the landmark you are shooting (clearing, structure, road) so splash corrections make sense.

    Read the 100 m grid

Each large map square is 100 m. Use the edge numbers when calling or correcting grids with your squad.

Tip: mortar position stays in your browser. Re-paste only when you relocate. Tables are flat-ground estimates — always fire a ranging shot.
